Slow down and grow

As you start your week, I want to share with you this poem and gentle reminder:

Slow down and grow.

I know my dear friend that you were taught to do things quickly.

And that life was a race to the top.

An imaginary peak where life is supposed to be all that you dream and want it to be.

But this race has rules. It tells you to climb, and climb, and climb some more.

It tells you to be productive and check things off on a list before you can even think of being worthy.

This is exhausting. This race.

I want you to know that you're allowed to step to the side.

You're allowed to slow down.

It doesn't make you less worthy.

And that imaginary peak you're trying to beat everyone to? It's actually in the now.

In how you invite yourself to be in the moment.

Like a 100 year old tree with a trunk so large you can't wrap your arms around it, you too, can slow down and grow.

Think about its strength.

It's steadiness.

It's firm connection to the Earth underneath.

It did not race to grow.

It did not check things off a list in order to be worthy of its strength.

It did not rush.

It did not compare itself to the other trees.

It took its time.

The tree, like you, transitions through many seasons of change and growth.

Embracing each moment as nectar for life.

Let nature show you different ways of being.

Let it support you in de-conditioning how you think you "should" be/do.

And as you start your week, let yourself slow down.

Know that you are already worthy of all that you desire.

The answers you're looking for? You already have them.

You don't have to chase them.

Enjoy the moment.

The process.

The shedding of the layers of doubt, fear, and shoulds…

And let yourself land in the embrace of all that you already are: (including but not limited to) worthy, wise, courageous and confident.

Wishing you an ease filled week,

Victoria
